And I'll never go home again..
Jeppe walked past a two story building made of brick, quickly glancing at its inhabitants through the window, before focusing his gaze towards the dirt road at the front of the building. He followed the path leading outside of the town. Jeppe did not want to stay in the town for too long, there were a large number of people staring at him at every turn, to say that it made him feel uncomfortable would be an incredible understatement.
The young man headed out to Route 29, where he aspired to possibly add a second addition to his team, or at least get practice fighting with Orpah, his dutiful Kangaskhan. After walking along the road for a couple of minutes, he came to a quick stop, thinking that he heard someone, or something, close to him..

The sound that Jeppe had heard was none other than a wild Hoothoot following him. It seemed shocked, standing on one foot when he turned around, flapping its wings erratically before making a jump to the left. A wind blew by, the Hoothoot using an Ominous Wind to try and scare the young man.

Re: And I'll never go home again..
A familiar sound started ringing back and forth between his ears, one of a supernatural gust blowing by. Jeppe glanced at his dutiful Pokemon, Orpah, clutching her baby. She was clearly frightened by the whole situation, so Jeppe quietly walked over to her and comforted her, saying "It's okay, I know a Ghost type attack when I see one. It's completely harmless to all three of us."
The baby still looked a bit upset, but Orpah started calming down. Jeppe start looking for the source of the wind, and he saw a Hoothoot hopping around. The young trained softly spoke to his Pokemon, telling her "Okay, Orpah, I think it's about time you've had your first battle. Run straight at it and use Comet Punch, alright?" The Kangaskhan instinctively nodded and charged at the Hoothoot, attempting to land a decisive blow on the Owl Pokemon.

The small, round bird was laughing that it managed to scare them. Even if the young man had seen through his playful attack. Narrowing his eyes, the brown bird hopped up, as if he was taunting them to come at him. A strange wave of psychic energy seemed to flow from the Hoothoot, and it became clear it was using Hypnosis, running the risk of taking a direct hit from Orpah's Comet Punch to apply a status problem. Of course, on contact Hoothoot could no longer keep up the Hypnosis attack, sliding further back into the grass before jumping to his foot and flapping his small wings in frustration. "Hoot!", the Hoothoot said as it shook its body, looking to see if Orpah was affected or not.

Re: And I'll never go home again..
Feeling the adrenaline course through her body, Orpah jumped up and prepared to strike Hoothoot with the full weight of her body. She ignored the psychic rays that pulsed through the air, although her movements start becoming sluggish as a result. However, the baby yawned softly and quickly fell asleep, blissfully ignoring the loud wind blowing by and the war cry of his mother as she flew by in the air for a short moment.
Jeppe looked on hesitantly as Kangaskhan embraced the effects of the Hoothoot's attack. He noticed that Kangaskhan was slowing down and might fall down in exhaustion any moment now, but he continued to cheer her on, shouting "Go Orpah, I know you can do it!" Hearing her trainer cheer her on, Orpah became filled with determination, and she landed right next to the mischievous Hoothoot and threw three punches in quick succession at the Hoothoot's direction.

Re: And I'll never go home again..
Hoothoot had received the attacks directly again. However, the small bird seemed intent to continue the fight between itself and Orpah. Getting back up to it's foot, it looked to Orpah and unleashed a Growl attack, seeking to lower Orpah's Attack damage. Hoothoot's movements seemed to also be slower, as it hopped back slightly to distance itself from Orpah, but fell over.

Re: And I'll never go home again..
Fearing a possible counterattack, Orpah stepped back a couple of paces, attempting to keep her distance from Hoothoot. However, instead of a direct attack, Hoothoot emitted a high-pitched chirp, unnerving Orpah and waking up the baby. The baby started crying, from being woken up by the horrible sound unleashed by the Owl Pokemon.
The shrieks ringed through Jeppe's ears, eliciting a noticable grimace from the usually stoic man. After stepping back, Kangaskhan looked onto Jeppe for his commands, and Jeppe instructed Orpah, saying "Orpah, use Leer then another Comet Punch!"
Orpah nodded, trying to ignore the crying baby, and she gave the Hoothoot a malicious look, harnessing her resentment towards the Owl Pokemon that had made her baby cry. After a few brief moments, Kangaskhan started charging towards Hoothoot, balling up her fist, preparing to strike.

Hoothoot froze in place upon taking the Leer. The menacing look given by Orpah was enough to stop the brown bird from taking any action as she charged forth, delivering what was to be the final blow of the fight between the two Pokemon. Hoothoot fell, having taken too much damage and fainted from the battle. Orpah gained 5 EXP, 10 Happiness and grew to Lv6.

Re: And I'll never go home again..
Jeppe silently looked on as the Hoothoot stood frozen in place, as the Kangaskhan charged towards the owl Pokemon. She landed the finishing blow on Hoothoot, and Jeppe briefly smiled as he congratulated Orpah on her victory, "Great job Orpah! If you're still feeling energetic, then we can keep trudging onwards."
Orpah nodded and comforted the baby Kangaskhan in her pouch as she walked along Jeppe, walking at a slightly slower pace than the tall man. As the mismatched trio silently walked along the road, Jeppe heard loud rustling coming from the side. Orpah instinctively prepared herself for a possible attack, as Jeppe came to a halt, although he did not bother to turn around just quite yet.

A Larvesta revealed itself from the side of the road. However, it only let loose a String Shot at Orpah before trying to make its way towards a tree, running away from the much more intimidating Pokemon that Jeppe had.

Re: And I'll never go home again..
Jeppe's refusal to turn around was a mistake on his part, as he was hit by a ball of sticky strings to his back, causing him to fall down onto the ground. The sticky substance was very durable, and Jeppe struggled to get himself up. Orpah pulled Jeppe and her enormous strength was enough to set Jeppe free, although he still had some string stuck to his clothes that he would have to worry about another day.
As Jeppe dusted himself off, he saw a Larvesta running away. Jeppe motioned towards the fleeing Pokemon and the Kangaskhan immediately knew what needed to be done. Orpah took off like a charging horse, with her fist enclosed, ready to deliver a powerful Comet Punch attack against the bug Pokemon.

Re: And I'll never go home again..
Larvesta seemed to make an attempt to move faster, despite it moving at a slow crawl. It did manage to pick up the pace as the larger Pokemon closed the distance. Likely out of panic and desperation to avoid fighting a Pokemon much larger than itself, the Larvesta launched itself into the air and spun, turning to face Orpah. The Bug-Type unleashed it's Ember attack at Orpah, taking a Comet Punch in the process. It wouldn't matter if the Ember made contact with Jeppe's partner or not, as the contact made between Larvesta and Orpah inflicted a burn upon her, thanks to the wild Pokemon's ability Flame Body.
The Larvesta landed on the ground after the hit, shaking it's body up and narrowing it's eyes, backing up further to create more space between itself and it's attacker.
