The stage was set. The show moved on.

Well, actually, only the ship moved on; due to the mysterious, invisible cargo, the ships speed was turned down a notch or two, delaying it by a few hours, but besides that, all was good. They might arrive late at night, or even early next morning. The sleek cruise liner cut through the waves, rocking as it moved. The sailors had surfaced, resting, and consuming cold beer in the lounge, relaxing for the day before starting their work. This was the time to feed Pokemon, and bring them on deck to enjoy the fresh sea spray, illuminated in their glittering splendour as he ship churned them high in the air. As night would fall, the water would grow cold and salty, dark and unsavoury. Sunset was the best time to be on deck. Laura would still be stretched out like a Persian across her seat, sipping a fresh drink.

(The journey's begun!~)

Alice used the time on board wisely, making sure her Pokemon were fed and happy in the shade before taking a nap, Gael cheerily splashing about in the pool. She had shared out the rare candies, too: Gael devouring one while the other team members ate two; and she had applied the TMs that they needed. She taught all of them double team and light screen, as well as giving her Stunky the technical machines for toxic, return and hidden power. The poison type snoozed on her lap as she did, and after a shower, Alice decided to get to some quick training.

"Okay, guys, we're all going to practice with each other to help learn your new moves! Especially Sakina, who's new to the gang and has more to catch up on!" The trainer declared. Sakina did look nervous, but when her trainer ruffled her fur, she felt reassured. "First of all, Sakina, I want you to aim a toxic attack at that sandbag over there! And then, keep repeating it until you feel comfortable and strong!”

The dual-type nodded, her new friends cheering her on while she gathered up the gas in her body, spitting it forth as a corrosive bile. It landed its mark, over and over, at first fairly weak and barely a spray before it became a ferocious jet. “Now, change target! Farren, I want you to keep on the move, and defend yourself with protect!” The duo obeyed, her bug spinning about the slippery deck, Sakina attempting to keep up and land a hit. Most of the time, she missed, but for every successful strike the move seemed to gain in toxicity and substance, so Alice decided that it was worth it. She clapped her hands, praising the pair, and then chose an exercise with which Gael could join in.

“Alright, lady and gentleman, here's the next job! I want you to test your hidden powers, to see what kind you have!” The Pokemon cooed. One after the other, they used their attacks. Gael's flew up into the sky in a glorious light show of white, blue and topaz; the skunk's a sticky and dangerous acid green. Finally, Farren's seemed to carry hard force, coloured a striking maroon in contrast to his green-blue body. Her pokedex identified their types: dragon, bug and fighting. Alice hummed. She wondered how to practice these things without causing much damage. The sandbag had been moved away now, seeing as Sakina had practically melted it over time. Then, she had an idea inspired by the seals on their spheres. Co-ordination.

“Okay, I've got a plan. I know you're all beautiful creatures anyway-” Sakina blushed and Gael's chest puffed out proudly, “But we're going to make your moves strong and beautiful, too! Farren, I want you to go first!” He jumped forward, “I want you to go up into the air and spin, use double team and then eradicate your copies with hidden power!” Farren did as she told him, putting on an intriguing display as he twirled upwards. On the first attempt, only a few copies surrounded him, quickly blown out of existence by brown shots of hidden power. Alice made her Pokemon go one after the other. Gael's tactics were different, staying immobile while he multiplied himself into various formations. The copies would fire off their striking, dragon-type hidden powers, the others fading off and revealing their farces thus, the lights crackling up and bursting apart in the sky like fireworks. Sakina's display required a bit more thought. Eventually, Alice had her newest friend leap upwards, too, destroying her own copies with the bugged hidden power as Farren did. It wasn't so original, but it was still pretty, and after several goes, she felt her Pokemon were closer to mastering those moves, and also looked wonderful as they did so.

All that was left was a brief rehearsal of light screen. It was best to take turns for this one, too, given that as quick as the barrier was to form, it took a few minutes to fade again. Alice had Farren and then Sakina go first, practising their conjuring of the special wall, the effectiveness of it tested against Gael's water gun. As expected, the wall was weak and faint to start with. It didn't exactly build too much in its success, as Alice wished to wind down their training session, but at least it gave the three of them an idea of what to do, aim for and eventually achieve. When she was satisfied that they were done for the moment, Alice praised them with a quick snuggle and allowed them freedom to roam nearby and play. Gael immediately went to the poolside, Sakina following to sit by and chatter with him, while Alice went to lie down on a lounger next to Laura, Farren content to snooze on her lap. The trainer didn't yet pester her friend, content to sip from a bottle of water and gaze out at the wonderful view. She gave Farren a loving kiss on the forehead, brushing at his coney body with her hand.

This whole world, this whole situation was terrifying. And yet, she felt so blessed to be in it.
