[Rules] Roleplay Rules
General Rules
- Be courteous to your fellow roleplayers and the staff.
- Mod rulings of items, money gain, ect. are final. Don't argue with a staff decision. If you believe a Mod is purposefully spiting you with smaller rewards than they've been giving for similar battles, the report function is a great thing to use. Don't start a fight or you'll be the one punished- not them.
- There will be no harassment, malicious criticism, or flaming of another member's posting, threads, or characters. Constructive criticism is always fine, though.
- Post in the correct sections. We've made a variety of sections and Regions for a reason, and writing about the shores of Johto while in the Castelia City area shouldn't happen. If this does occur, we will move the thread to the proper place. If it continues to happen, a warning may be issued. After a warning, punishment can occur.
Character Rules
- Your character must be approved before you roleplay. Posting in the roleplay section without an approved character will get your thread ignored, locked, or deleted. Possibly all three.
- You may update your character's information (excluding Pokemon info and items) at any time you'd like. Please, however, do not alter their History after their approval. You may add to their History after roleplaying new experiences, of course, but creating an entirely new character from your old one is not okay. Personality should also remain until roleplay has actually changed how your character acts through their own development.
- Update your character tracker. It's there to help both you and your Mod know what changes need to be made to their app. If you don't help with its upkeep, your Mod may not know what to update for you. Once a change is made, please indicate that it has been done so the action isn't done twice.
- Keep a link to your approved character or your character tracker in your signature.
- Even if a created character meets all minimum requirements, the staff does hold a right to deny them. Just because your character follows the guidelines, it doesn't mean they will be approved. If a staff member feels that a character is too much of a Mary Sue or overpowered, they can ask them to be altered.
Posting Rules
- You are only allowed to be in one roleplay thread at a time. Yes, we operate on linear time and you cannot participate in two threads at once. If a section of the site exempts this rule, it will be stated in the description. Those are the only areas where liquid time is permitted.
- You must make at least 100 words in your roleplay posts. Exceptions can be made to this such as dialogue posts or battle sequences, but we ask that you try to stick to this as best as possible. There will always be enough content to post a decent amount of text, and this requirement shouldn't be too hard so long as you keep description, character feelings, and what's currently happening in mind.
- Just as in all of the forum, text speak (such as lol and brb) and l33t speak (such as gr8) aren't allowed. Follow all proper spelling and grammar as thoroughly as possible.
- Clearly mark when you exit a topic. Don't just assume the others within it can tell if you're truly leaving or not. Using [EXIT] after your post is an excellent method.
- There will be no godmodding (sometimes shortened to GMing) or bunnying whatsoever.
- Respect the wishes of the thread creator. All topics are considered open unless otherwise stated, but it can always be a good idea to check with the creator of the thread if you can join beforehand. If there are tags such as [Private] or [Closed], don't join them without permission. Similarly, if a topic creator asks you to leave their thread if you've joined without their consent under the assumption that it was open, respectfully do as asked. There will be other topics to join.
- Out of character (OoC) talk is okay so long as it's relevant to the thread. Overuse of it, however, isn't okay. Please make it very obvious that it's OoC by using something like parentheses or brackets. OoC talk does NOT count toward your required word count.
