Update 1:

I strongly suggest you disable battle animations. It saves a lot of time. I'm using this timer - TIMER not the stopwatch. I pause it when I capture and paste screenshots on MS Paint, then resume after pasting. To clarify, if I paused the timer on the Pokemon details screen, then I will continue on that same screen. Not pause on Pokemon details, go back to the overworld screen, then pause - no.

No screenshots this time, too lazy.

Bad news: Near (Ralts) got killed while grinding. There went my dream of having a Gardevoir. Big loss on my part.

Good news: Chanel (Caterpie) evolved into a Lv. 9 Metapod. Franz (Zigzagoon's) Pickup has been supplying us with Berries, which is nice. He also grew to Lv. 12. Brandon (Mudkip) evolved into a Marshtomp! Lightning (Elekid) grew to Lv. 15.

Challenged Brock, Brandon effortlessly destroyed his team. His Onix's infamous Dig did laughable damage. Even his Rhyhorn's Horn Attack wasn't so scary this time. Got the badge. In the end, Brandon grew to Lv. 18.

Until I get the VS Seeker in Vermilion, I'll prioritize leveling Brandon and Lightning and whatever good Pokemon I catch. That way, leveling weak/battle-useless Pokemon like Chanel and Franz wouldn't consume so much time. I'll rebattle Trainers and lead with the weak so I can switch them out and let the strong do the fighting. Will repeat until the weak are strong enough to join the front lines.

Will make my way to Mt. Moon now.

Update 5:

Caught an Electrike outside Mt. Moon, named her Natchios. Quite frustrated it's another Electric-type, but at least Lightning will have backup versus Misty should he need one.

Inside Mt. Moon, I caught a female Geodude. Geodudette? Geochick? Whatever, named her Lycia. She knew Rock Throw. Raised her to Lv. 20. Franz picked up a Nugget! $$$ ^_^ $$$

Still in Mt. Moon, but I should be outta here in the next update.

Update 6:

Exited Mt. Moon. Lycia was taught Mega Punch by a karate dude outside the cave.

Arrived in Cerulean. Bought an expensive Mystic Water for Brandon to boost his Water attacks.

On the grasses west of Cerulean, I caught a second Electrike (named Barry). Between the two Electrike, Barry was obviously the better one. He's 3 levels higher than Natchios and had Static. Boxed Natchios and added Barry to my team.

Returned to Cerulean, healed, and moved northwards to Nugget Bridge. Rival battle ensued. He had an Abra that could only use Teleport, so I let Chanel kill it. She leveled up. Defeated Rival. Chanel evolved into Butterfree and learned Confusion! Now she's useful!

Still no deaths!
