Alice Corin Hope
Core Information Name:Alice Hope Nickname/Alias:Aarin, Acchan Age: 22 Gender: Female Birthplace: Ascorbia Island, Orange Archipelago Trainer Classification:Trainer/Coordinator Character Tracker: Physical Attributes Height:4”9 Weight:110lb Appearance: Alice has long and wavy golden blonde hair with natural highlights, with layers that frame her face. Her skin is incredibly fair, and she has a mole dead centre on her back and a bruise beneath her left knee. Her ocean blue eyes are weak and so generally have designer glasses worn over them, and her teeth haven't been straightened. She is generally petite except for her full bust, and Alice even has small hands and feet, with long and thin 'piano fingers' despite never having played piano. She normally has her nails 'done' and painted, but doesn't like keeping them too long. As she gets easily overheated, Alice is normally seen wearing dresses, cropped or tank tops, skirts or shorts, but there are exceptions. Due to injections, Alice has bruises all over, and close inspection can sometimes find little bumps on her skin. Defining Traits: The mole on her back, glasses, the highlights of her natural hair, bruises from needles, fair skinned and wonky teeth. Personality Personality: If Alice's personality could be condensed into idol or anime archetypes, she would be the honour student with a devilish princess syndrome and a dangerous yandere spark to top it all off. As she was raised an only child, the young woman has relished being the sole hoarder of attention and, for the most part, a teacher's pet given her intelligence and generally good behaviour. She is incredibly materialistic – although charitable to family, friends and the right causes if there's time or funds to spare – and there is always something that she has her pretty eyes on. When denied her wishes, Alice will either politely put up a front or throw down a tantrum depending on occasion or place, but regardless of her outer reaction, Alice can certainly hold a grudge. The rookie trainer can work hard with the right motivation, but is otherwise lazy and my-paced, preferring to play all night and sleep after noon, and is far too prissy to sleep rough unless forced. With her natural cuteness in both appearance and voice, the aspiring idol is quite vain, and she loves being pampered or admiring her own reflection, and she also uses it for the purposes of manipulation-- but usually jokes about it, to come off as modest and humourous rather than crude. Despite this innocent and usually playful image, Alice is inwardly quite damaged, and carries a lot of sadness, anxiety and anger, which is bottled up to explode later. She is good at giving advice but not so grand at following it, and she's a reliable leader and friend because of how honest and forthright she can be. Also, although she can be a strong leader, Alice can be easily spooked, and has a great fear for fire and therefore fire-type Pokemon, as well as some ghosts and bugs. The young woman dreams of romances, but is also quite perverse, with no preference in terms of sex or gender for her relationships at all. Altogether, this seemingly classy lady is full of inconsistencies and oxymorons, and cute and complex sum her up sweet. Strengths: Playful, honest, well-mannered (usually), intelligent, strong leader Weaknesses: Spoiled, obsessive, bottles up her negativity and burdened by others, easily spooked Battle Style:Alice's battle style relies on multiple factors. She has a preference for Pokemon of a dual-type with few resistances and abilities that lean towards her offensive favours. She uses wide movepools to overcome any type match-up, and likes to string powerful combos to overwhelm opponents. She also likes using status afflictions and moves such as attract and disable, forcing enemies to sit tight while her Pokemon wipe them out. Background History: Alice was born on the first of April to the single mother, Kyna Hope. Kyna hailed from Azalea Town and was a rising, journeying co-ordinator who had traveled through Hoenn and Kanto pursuing contests in her youth. However, when moving through Goldenrod, she had met and begun dating a rebellious trainer who caught her eye, and they had been going 'steady' despite the disapproval of Kyna's parents. Only, down the line, she had discovered the man was building a career for himself in Team Rocket, and Kyna left him before she could tell the man that she was pregnant. Getting as far from the place as possible, Kyna chose a job in the Orange Archipelago as a teacher in a Pokemon Academy, moving into an apartment on Ascorbia Island, making friends while she prepared for oncoming motherhood. Alice was a noisy, sleepless and troublesome baby, who walked before she crawled and always knew when food was coming. When old enough, Kyna left her daughter in the creche at the Academy, where she could socialise and also be surrounded by Pokemon. The child grew to love reading and rarely stop talking. She loved swimming in the sea and drawing in the sand, picking berries and feeding Pokemon. She loved to play with her mother's Pokemon, except Kyna's Camerupt, which seemed to spook her along with all other fire-types that came off as remotely threatening. Alice went into the academy as soon as she was of age, but struggled to get along with other children, a target for bullying right off the mark. It meant she cried a lot, but like most children, got on with it and seemed quite cheerful. When she was six, her mother started dating a man called Radley, who was an engineer. They got along quite well. Alice's life took a sudden, negative turn when she was seven, collapsing one day in the spring before school. Rushing her to the nearest hospital, it was discovered that the child had a chronic illness, which led to weight loss, fatigue, thirst and a whole host of potential problems. The only treatment was daily injections, which Alice had to learn to inject for herself. Thankfully, a hotter climate did help ease some of the extreme symptoms, although on the wrong day it could lead to her fainting from overwhelm. While learning to manage her condition, the child was showing promise at school, seeming to naturally get on well with Pokemon. Even wild Pokemon seemed drawn to her when out and about, although nobody picked up that there might be something special to her. Supposedly. Little did they know Team Rocket had been picking up strange energy signals from the Islands-- and that the little girl was the source. They monitored her at school and at play on her own, off in the brush of Ascorbia or wherever trips took them. She had some kind of power, something that attracted Pokemon and stirred them, sometimes increased their power. It was something they wanted. However, it was more personal for a certain now-admin, who identified her soon enough. Alice was nine when they caught her alone in Ascorbia's forest and abducted her, taking her to a base in Kanto. She was observed by scientists and tested by agents, but they soon discovered that too much negative pressure, and whatever little power they wanted seemed to disappear. Her father tried to take a close lead on the operations, out of some kind of bond, but Alice was confused and mistrustful, and she wanted her mother and her home. She had her own room in one of the labs, with toys and books and a TV, but they couldn't keep things up. The mission wasn't moving, the child was sick and they didn't understand what they needed to. In the end, the decision was made to put the girl into stasis – heavily influenced by her father, who couldn't let go. Alice was put to sleep with the aid of technology and psychic Pokemon, who constructed a world within her head to aid development in the meantime as studies ambled on, and for over a decade, she was none the wiser. In her head, she woke up in a hospital from a coma, to two parents – a nurse and a professional gambler – who loved her. Two weeks later, they took their confused little baby home. Alice went to a private school, still unpopular but with a small group of friends who supported her through constant therapy and misdiagnosis for her 'issues'. Pokemon weren't real, she had to accept that eventually, and at some point she did, and slowly began to forget. She went to university and studied drama, graduating by the skin of her teeth and going into radio and voice acting work. Alice had no cares in the world, earning enough to play the bills, enjoying a regular life, until one day in her 22nd Autumn, she woke up on an island somewhere with a Pokemon. And the confusion began all over again. Defining Moments: Started in the creche of Ascorbia Academy, continued into nursery and then their schooling system. Was diagnosed with a chronic illness at the age of seven. Kidnapped by Team Rocket a few years later and met her father. Put into stasis a few months later for the sake of research and preservation. (Dream state) Went through school and graduated from a drama school in London, went into radio and voice over work. Woke up from dream state in the Orange Archipelago, at this point with little memory of her childhood (likely suppressed). Other Information |

Pokémon Pokémon: Shellos [Shiny] Nickname: Gael Gender: Male Personality: A little wayward in thought an emotion, he can be peppy one minute and scorned like no other the next. He cares deeply for his friends and companions, though if he's in a more sour mood he may not show it. In battle, he's aggressive and powerful, believing in hitting first and asking questions later, although he's also prone to throwing himself in the line of fire to protect his teammates as well. He enjoys swimming and a good rainstorm, but overly dry days will make him grumpy. He knows his appearance is special and doesn't mind strutting his appearance and showing off his power. --- Original Trainer: Alice Hope Ability: Storm Drain Level: 19 Moveset: Mud-Slap, Mud Sport, Harden, Water Pulse, Fissure [EM], Toxic [TM], Return [TM], Ice Beam [TM], Mud Bomb, Hidden Power [TM], Round [TM], Double Team [TM] Happiness: 130 Exp: 10 Pokémon: Pineco Nickname: Farren Gender: Male Personality: A heavy sleeper and devote follower of afternoon naps, he takes everything in stride and has little patience in putting energy into fighting things he can't control. He can retain focus in battle but doesn't have an overwhelming competitive side, content in simply trying his best and making personal victories. --- Original Trainer: Alice Hope Ability: Sturdy Level: 18 Moveset: Tackle, Protect, Self-Destruct, Bug Bite, Toxic [TM] Take Down, Hidden Power [TM], Rapid Spin, Round [TM], Double Team [TM] Happiness: 40 Exp: 12 Pokémon: Stunky Nickname: Sakina Gender: Female Personality: A sweet little baby doll of a pokemon, Stunky can be quite the child. Ever enthusiastic to spend time with those she loves best, she has a fierce protective streak, turning into quite the harpy should a single scratch appear on her most prized possessions and people alike. Otherwise, she's a frightened kid to be protected and taken care of. She dislikes battling, believing in diplomatic ends to fighting, and can be quite convincing - which is annoying when she convinces her way out of a bath or bedtime. She adores sweets, and food in general, being quite easy to win over with them. Despite her sweet disposition, she has a quick temper, which is equally quick to disappear. She's quite jumpy, and prone to being surprised, most of these surprises ending in a nasty stink, in the use of which she is quick and indiscriminate - and she then proceeds to profusely apologize. A gentle, adoring pokemon, this one is quite the social butterfly, typically shy to new arrivals, but quick to open up, and a great friend to have made. --- Original Trainer: Alice Hope Ability: Stench Level: 19 Moveset: Scratch, Focus Energy, Poison Gas, Screech, Fury Swipes, Iron Tail [EM], Smokescreen, Feint, Toxic [TM], Return [TM], Hidden Power [TM], Round [TM], Double Team [TM] Happiness: 50 Exp: 6 Pokémon: Shuppet Nickname: Bran Gender: Male Personality: This Shuppet is a curious little fellow, always on the lookout for fun stuff to do, new things to find and play with. A real joker at heart, he loves pranking people and trying to make people laugh. However, if necessary he can be serious when the situation demands it. --- Original Trainer: Alice Hope Ability: Insomnia Level: 11 Moveset: Knock Off, Screech, Shadow Sneak [EM], Spite, Night Shade, Round [TM], Double Team [TM], Toxic [TM], Return [TM], Hidden Power [TM] Happiness: 0 Exp: 3 |

- Avaritia wrote:Hmm, yes. The idol type... drifting unsure through different worlds. The center of attention, an eye for luxury! But a deeper sadness that plagues her. A history that covers many aspects in her life... all details covered. Everything seems to be in order for me to judge your path!
- Pokemon Picks:
An eye for shiny baubles, love of pampering, and ties to Team Rocket only couples the wide movepool and fierce ability of Meowth. It would made an excellent and loyal companion.
Their ever-present need to maintain appearances and little fear they have in being noticed are a fine trait of Swablu. On top of this, it is a dual type that creates two immunities and covers many weaknesses.
Shellos is a water type that could not only grow to better travel through the Orange Islands, but its evolution also takes pride in a decently wide TM learnpool and one of its two weaknesses becoming an immunity. It has great defense and offense, offering a lot of battle potential.
Igglybuff is simply adorable. As it grows, it boasts not only a great movepool, but energy and charisma, seeking attention just as Alice does. The spotlight can come easy to these Pokemon, and no matter how bad emotions may be, they will always be there to try and brighten a day. That being said, temper tantrums are also common.
Bonsly, unlike most of the other choices, is a great foil for Alice. They are typically easygoing, steady, and unmoving. It does share the girl's laziness, though, and can also be prone to tears... though Bonsly's is more a biological action than emotion! It can be fierce in its attacks and often has a need to protect its friends, thus will fight with all its strength for Alice.
