All contests follow a similar routine. If there are manipulations made to the routine, it is likely due to some special event. The usual routine is to have a standard appeal and then a battle round.
Other Information:
1. Trainers are not charged for the purchase of seals
2. Pokémon contained in special balls may be taken into account
-- This is usually during the appeal stage
-- Does the pokeball add to the overall appeal?
3. Seals may also boost the overall appeal of a performance

Contest Stages:
- Standard Appeal:
Standard appeal follows the anime; coordinators utilize their Pokémons' moves and strengths to create a magnificent display (may or may not be based on a theme). The coordinators do this to try appealing to all four of the judges of the contest.
Goals:
1. Maneuver Pokémon moves and strengths, creating good display
2. Appeal to the four judges of the contest
3. Hype up the audience watching the contest
- Battle Round:
Battle rounds typically last durations of five minutes (though, obviously, this cannot be followed easily by RP). A short bar representing health is given, and dependent upon "slip-ups," this bar will decrease. A winner is determined based on which trainer's Pokémon lasts the longest.
Example Slip-ups:
-- Pokémon gets trapped by psychic
-- Pokémon takes a hit
-- Status ailment move failure (attack doesn't land)
-- Etc
During the Grand Festival, a "Double Performance" rises in the Battle Round. Instead of using one Pokémon during this stage, two are utilized. One of the Pokémon slots may be used up by the Pokémon used during the Standard Appeal.
